TREE TRAIL
Wymondham town is fortunate in having many beautiful and significant trees and groups of trees.

Our interactive trail takes you on a journey around the town to get you up close and personal with some of our favourite trees. Click the button below to get started on a guided arboreal journey.

Please note that the trail is designed to be followed using a smartphone. You can view it using other mobile devices such as tablets, however this is not recommended as the layout of the pages are specifically arranged to suit a smartphone format and viewing experience.

Here are a few quick pointers on using the trail pages.

-
Main picture for the tree or group of trees/ location. Click this to see all available pictures for this tree or group.
-
Greening Wymondham logo. Click this to exit the tree trail and go to the website home page.
-
'<Prev' button. Click this to return to the previous tree/ location. Note that for the first tree, this button will show '<Start' as it will return you to this trail information page.
-
'Directions' button. Click this to get directions to the currently shown tree/ location. (Note that this button is to be used to get directions from the tree you are currently standing by, to the tree shown on your phone.) This will open a new page showing the route on a map using OpenStreetMap (a free, community built project providing mapping services as an alternative to proprietary mapping such as Google Maps and Apple Maps) with accompanying written route instructions. The first tree - the trail start point - is simply marked on a map and so has a 'Location' button instead, not directions from any particular place.
-
'Next>' button. Click this to go to the next tree/ location in the trail. Note that for the last tree/ location in the trail, this will show 'End>' as it will take you to the trail end page.
-
Information about the current tree/ location. This may include links to external websites for information about the tree species or other related information.
Safety and Accessibility
We want everybody to use this interactive tree trail safely and to have fun and enjoy the wonderful trees as you wander aound our town.

Please be aware that - as this is a town centre trail - there will be traffic around so please do be careful crossing roads and being around vehicles at all times. We would recommend that you do not walk and follow directions on your phone at the same time: always be alert for other pedestrians, vehicles and street furniture.

With regards to accessibility, on a few parts of the trail, some of the pavements are narrow or non-existent, there may not be convenient drop-kerbs for wheelchairs, mobility scooters or pushchairs and some parts of the trail will be on grass.

We would love feedback from anybody with mobility issues on how best we could improve the trail to accommodate you, so do please use the form at the end of the trail to let us know what we can improve. Thanks!
